Senior Space Systems Engineer (AI)

Location: Hybrid in Colorado Springs, Colorado, with regular work in a secure environment required. Hiring is limited to residents of specified U.S. states or the United Kingdom.

Salary: $115,600–$170,000 base salary plus equity.

What you will do

• Lead the design and architecture of technical solutions for space domain awareness, education and training, and space intelligence applications.
• Analyze functional, non-functional, and business requirements and translate customer needs into solution blueprints.
• Provide technical leadership to multidisciplinary delivery teams throughout the solution development lifecycle.
• Define technical roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, deliverables, and project goals while managing risks, timelines, budgets, and quality.
• Conduct workshops, presentations, demonstrations, technical briefings, and stakeholder engagement activities.
• Support product, growth, and sales teams with solutioning, RFIs, RFQs, white papers, and customer-facing technical content.

Requirements

• Active DoD TS security clearance required.
• Ability to regularly work in a secure environment in Colorado Springs, Colorado, required.
• 10+ years of experience in senior engineering technical leadership roles, preferably in the space industry.
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Aerospace, STEM, or a relevant field, with focus on astrodynamics, space systems, modeling and simulation, or model-based systems engineering.
• Strong expertise in space systems, systems engineering, software development, RF applications, technical roadmaps, project risk management, and classified execution.
• Experience with Agile, Scrum, Kanban, or equivalent project management methodologies, plus excellent technical writing, presentation, communication, and analytical skills.

Nice to have

• Advanced degree in Aerospace Engineering focused on astrodynamics, space systems, modeling and simulation, or model-based systems engineering.
• Experience with space flight applications, product development, or leading technical teams with diverse expertise.
