Chemist - Midnight Shift (Pharmaceutical Quality)

Location: Alliston, Ontario, Canada; onsite midnight shift from Sunday to Thursday, 23:00-7:30

Salary: CAD 72,080–108,120 annually, including base salary and estimated target payout under the Management Incentive Compensation Plan.

What you will do

• Perform analytical chemical testing using instrumental and wet chemical techniques.
• Analyze in-process samples, apply assays and procedures, and take action when results fall outside specified limits.
• Enter test results into the Laboratory Information Management System, approve reports, and forward them to the Document Center.
• Maintain the chemistry laboratory, including housekeeping, waste disposal, glassware cleaning, and removal of expired chemicals and reagents.
• Perform preventative maintenance on laboratory equipment and arrange servicing for malfunctions.
• Follow GMP, compliance, regulatory, and internal laboratory procedures.

Requirements

• Bachelor of Science in Analytical Chemistry or Biochemistry, or equivalent experience.
• 3–5 years of experience in an analytical chemical testing laboratory.
• Experience with laboratory equipment in a quality management laboratory.
• Experience with analytical testing methods including HPLC, ICP-MS, GC, atomic absorption, UV-VIS spectroscopy, flame photometry, and IR spectroscopy.
• Knowledge of GMP, ISO, and regulatory requirements, plus proficiency with MS Office and computerized laboratory systems.
• Strong organizational, analytical, problem-solving, critical-thinking, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Nice to have

• More than two years of chemical laboratory experience in the pharmaceutical industry.
• Familiarity with LIMS.
• Technical writing experience.
