Software Engineer (Data)

Location: Remote, Europe and US based; flexible working hours across European and eastern US timezones.

What you will do

• Design and develop distributed systems and contribute to high-impact architectural decisions.
• Build and operate components of the blockchain data platform, including data ingestion and decoding.
• Address technical challenges involving distributed systems, large databases, SQL processing, data modelling, and systems performance.
• Write mainly Kotlin and Go, with some Java and Rust, emphasizing well-designed and performant code.
• Improve local test setups, integration tests, incremental deployment processes, and internal developer experience.
• Automate incident diagnosis and resolution and build AI agents for engineering automation.

Requirements

• Strong generalist engineering background with fundamental computer science knowledge.
• Understanding of distributed system design, or the ability and motivation to learn it.
• Understanding of blockchain technology and RPC interactions.
• Experience with data lakes and formats such as Parquet, Delta, or Iceberg.
• Coding experience in a JVM language and a commitment to writing well-designed, testable software.
• Strong collaboration and communication skills.
