Analytics Engineer (Fintech)

Location: Remote in Canada

Salary: CA$110,000–CA$135,000 per year

What you will do

• Design and scale data pipelines from scope definition through delivery.
• Partner with Finance, Operations, Product, Technology, and other stakeholders to translate business requirements into technical data solutions.
• Build performant, well-tested data models supporting internal reporting, self-serve analytics, and decision-making.
• Apply modeling frameworks such as one big table, entity tables, event streams, and Kimball models.
• Optimize query performance, monitor pipeline health, and implement data quality controls.
• Document solutions, establish best practices, upskill colleagues, and unify cross-functional data into reusable reporting structures.

Requirements

• 3+ years of experience in analytics engineering, data engineering, or a similar data role.
• Strong experience with complex dbt projects, materializations, snapshots, variables, macros, and Jinja.
• Strong SQL skills, including query optimization and performance tuning.
• Experience with dbt Core or dbt Cloud and Git.
• Ability to collaborate with analysts, product managers, and engineers and communicate technical work in terms of business outcomes.
• Initiative in identifying and implementing improvements; experience or interest in AI-assisted development workflows.
