Senior Product Security Engineer (AWS)

Location: New York City, United States; hybrid with four days per week in-office. No required office days during the summer and winter holidays.

Salary: $175,000–$205,000 annual base salary, plus potential company incentive bonus.

What you will do

• Lead and collaborate on product security initiatives that strengthen engineering practices.
• Write and review customer-facing code alongside product development engineers.
• Conduct threat modeling, architecture reviews, and offensive security engagements.
• Secure CI/CD systems, sensitive data storage, mobile designs, frontend web services, and cloud infrastructure.
• Build security tools, monitoring, and visibility for development teams and platform services.
• Mentor engineers and promote software and security engineering excellence.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience building software.
• Deep experience securing modern web applications, including OWASP Top 10, CWEs, and language-specific application security issues.
• Experience exploiting common vulnerabilities and implementing fixes.
• Experience building high-availability distributed systems with an object-oriented programming language.
• Experience with Linux command line and securing AWS infrastructure, including EC2, RDS, S3, and VPCs.
• Ability to work from the New York City office four days per week in a hybrid arrangement.

Nice to have

• Experience with GraphQL, React, CircleCI, Kubernetes, Terraform, or Postgres.
