College Intern - Mechatronic Systems & AI Design

What you will do

• Design and optimize motion control systems, including motors and transmission drives, for precision, adaptability, and performance.
• Prototype, test, and refine mechanical and thermal solutions for mechatronic systems.
• Integrate AI-driven analysis for system accuracy, predictive maintenance, and performance tuning.
• Develop and execute R&D characterization plans covering form, fit, function, shock and vibration, reliability, acoustics, and power metrics.
• Analyze global field data to identify product improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and external partners, lead mini-projects, and contribute to larger development efforts.

Requirements

• Enrollment in a Bachelor’s or Master’s program in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
• Availability for a 5–6 month full-time internship starting in January 2027.
• Strong foundation in kinematics, servo control, and motion systems.
• Familiarity with AI concepts such as machine learning and predictive modeling applied to engineering.
• Programming skills in Python, MATLAB, and C/C++ for simulation, automation, and data analysis.
• Experience with 3D CAD tools such as Creo and with designing sheet metal or plastic parts.
