Network Automation Engineer (AI)

Location: Palo Alto, CA (Hybrid)

Salary: $225,000 – $290,000 USD

What you will do

• Own and maintain the network source of truth for large-scale GPU compute clusters.
• Develop automated configuration generation workflows to ensure network state is programmatic and idempotent.
• Build and operate simulation environments to validate fabric changes before deployment.
• Create CI/CD pipelines for network changes, including schema checks, config diffs, and routing assertions.
• Instrument fabric telemetry and develop tooling to manage and reason about massive-scale topologies.
• Collaborate with bring-up teams to automate cabling validation and acceptance testing.

Requirements

• 4+ years of experience in network automation, infrastructure software, or network engineering.
• Strong proficiency in Python for production environments, including testing and CI/CD.
• Experience with network source of truth tools like NetBox or Nautobot.
• Deep understanding of network fundamentals including L2/L3, BGP, ECMP, and leaf-spine architectures.
• Hands-on experience with network simulation or emulation tools like containerlab.
• Ability to write production-grade code in shared repositories under rigorous review standards.

Nice to have

• Fluency with AI-assisted development and agentic CLI tools.
• Experience with configuration analysis tools like Batfish.
• Knowledge of GPU fabric technologies such as RoCE v2, InfiniBand, or NCCL.
• Familiarity with Go or Rust.
• Experience with Kubernetes operators or controller patterns.
