RWA Principal Protocol Engineer (Web3)

Location: New York City, USA; hybrid work with at least 3 days per week in the office

Base salary: $155,000–$287,000 per year, plus annual bonus or commission, equity, and benefits.

What you will do

• Own the design and evolution of the hirify.global Token Design Standard for representing public equity on-chain, including issuance, transfer restrictions, compliance controls, corporate actions, and record date mechanics.
• Author and maintain the reference implementation library with backward compatibility, versioning, and rigorous documentation.
• Define governance mechanisms and chain selection strategy across public and permissioned infrastructure.
• Architect protocol components for institutional trading workflows, market structure requirements, and tokenized asset ecosystems.
• Set performance, scalability, and reliability standards for low-latency, high-throughput implementations.
• Lead integrations with custodians, trading venues, market infrastructure providers, and interoperability frameworks while representing hirify.global in standards and industry initiatives.

Requirements

• 8+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in smart contract or protocol-level development.
• Expert-level Solidity experience and experience deploying security token or regulated asset contracts on public or permissioned blockchains.
• Strong knowledge of smart contract security, audit governance, gas optimization, token standards, corporate actions, settlement infrastructure, and U.S. equity market mechanics.
• Experience building low-latency, high-throughput distributed systems and integrating with on-chain trading platforms or tokenized asset marketplaces.
• Ability to write technical specifications, influence stakeholders, and defend design decisions with partners, customers, and regulators.
• Must be authorized to work in the U.S. without employment-based visa sponsorship; visa sponsorship is not available.

Nice to have

• Rust experience, including Solana or Substrate.
• Authorship or contribution to Web3 frameworks, protocol improvement proposals, or tokenization standards.
• Familiarity with DTCC, SWIFT, FIX, ISO 20022, and institutional settlement systems.
• Experience with exchanges, broker-dealers, custodians, or institutional digital asset firms.
