VP of Data Platform & Architecture

What you will do

• Lead the data organization through directors and managers, shaping the strategic evolution of data engineering and platform architecture.
• Architect and scale distributed systems processing multi-petabyte datasets and hundreds of billions of events.
• Define a company-wide data vision and operating model with cross-functional engineering, security, sales, and product partners.
• Build self-service developer capabilities and abstractions that reduce time to delivery.
• Manage platform performance and cost efficiency while transitioning toward open-source technologies such as Airflow, Debezium, Iceberg, Trino, and Spark.
• Mentor international engineering teams and establish frameworks for technical excellence and operational rigor.

Requirements

• Deep experience architecting and operating large-scale distributed data platforms at multi-petabyte scale on cloud services, preferably AWS.
• Experience building internal developer frameworks and platform abstractions.
• Strong software engineering and distributed systems background, including batch and real-time processing.
• Experience leading and scaling international engineering organizations of 50 or more professionals.
• Familiarity with modern open-source data technologies such as Airflow, Debezium, Kafka, Spark, and ClickHouse.
• Ability to improve system performance, cost efficiency, and developer velocity through data-driven decisions.

Nice to have

• Experience building developer tools.
• Familiarity with ClickHouse.
• Experience contributing to or managing significant open-source data projects.
