Machine Learning Engineer / Scientist (Cryopreservation)

Salary: $140,000–$240,000 per year, plus equity

hirify.global is developing organ-scale reversible cryopreservation and medical hibernation technologies to preserve organs and support future medical treatment.

What you will do

• Build machine learning systems for developing cryoprotectant formulations and biologically inspired antifreeze proteins.
• Analyze the physics of vitrification and rewarming using experimental data.
• Shape data collection and design data pipelines for scientific experiments.
• Train and evaluate machine learning models using modern approaches.
• Deploy maintainable tooling used daily by scientists.
• Collaborate with scientists and engineers on complex cross-disciplinary problems.

Requirements

• Degree in computer science or a related field such as applied mathematics, statistics, data science, or computational biology.
• Strong foundations in linear algebra, probability, statistics, calculus, and machine learning.
• Experience with representation learning, generative modeling, active learning, and Bayesian optimization.
• Track record of applying machine learning to scientific discovery through publications, open-source contributions, or deployed systems.
• Strong Python programming skills and experience with PyTorch, NumPy, SciPy, Pandas or Polars, and Matplotlib or Plotly.
• Proficiency with Linux command line tools, Git, and shell scripting.

Nice to have

• 3+ years of relevant professional or research experience, or a PhD in a computational field.
• Knowledge of algorithms, operating systems, and concurrency.
• Experience with AWS, GCP, and SQL databases.
