Forward Deployed Software Engineer - US Government

Location: Washington, D.C., United States; on-site

Salary: $135,000–$200,000 per year, plus potential restricted stock units, sign-on bonus, and other incentives.

What you will do

• Work directly with customers to understand complex operational problems and design data-driven solutions.
• Own end-to-end execution of high-stakes projects with minimal supervision.
• Discuss software architecture and work with large-scale data and storage systems.
• Build custom web applications and use front-end frameworks where appropriate.
• Collaborate with engineers, product teams, Deployment Strategists, customer executives, and other technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Establish strategy for project teams and make independent technical decisions.

Requirements

• Active US Security Clearance at or above the Top Secret level, or willingness to obtain or upgrade to at least Top Secret.
• Strong engineering background, preferably in Computer Science, Mathematics, Software Engineering, or Physics.
• Proficiency in Python, Java, C++, TypeScript, JavaScript, or similar programming languages.
• Familiarity with data structures, storage systems, cloud infrastructure, and front-end frameworks.
• Ability to collaborate across technical and non-technical teams, learn continuously, work independently, and make decisions with minimal supervision.
• Willingness and ability to travel as needed.

Nice to have

• Experience with logistics, materiel, sustainment, aviation, or readiness analysis.
• Understanding of how technical decisions affect users.
