Senior Data Engineer (FinTech)

Location: Milan, Italy; hybrid work with three days per week in-office (Tuesday and Thursday plus one flexible day), with the option to request additional remote time.

Salary: €51,000–€66,500 gross per annum

What you will do

• Lead the design and evolution of the data lakehouse strategy, integrating Amazon Redshift and Redshift Serverless.
• Own the dbt framework, analytics engineering standards, CI/CD pipelines, and data quality testing.
• Build and optimize Apache Airflow orchestration for batch and near-real-time workloads.
• Architect the machine learning platform, feature store, model data pipelines, and collaborative analytics environments.
• Design streaming transformation pipelines with technologies such as Apache Flink and Spark Streaming.
• Improve platform performance, cost efficiency, observability, security, privacy, compliance, and reliability while mentoring engineers.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience designing, scaling, and maintaining complex enterprise data platforms.
• Strong SQL skills and practical experience with Python, Java, or Scala for data pipelines.
• Knowledge of scalable batch and real-time streaming architectures.
• Experience with data quality, consistency, platform models, self-service analytics, and data governance.
• Interest in LLMs and AI coding assistants such as Claude Code.
• Fluent Italian and English are required.
