Sales Tax Lead

What you will do

• Research U.S. sales tax regulations, legislative developments, and emerging compliance requirements.
• Support tax registration, licensing, compliance research, and customer onboarding across multiple jurisdictions.
• Provide technical tax guidance to Product, Engineering, Operations, Compliance, Customer Success, and other internal teams.
• Evaluate product and service taxability and support tax-related customer and implementation questions.
• Manage apportionment, nexus, and sourcing methodologies across entities and jurisdictions.
• Build knowledge resources and partner with Engineering and Business Operations on scalable tax automation.

Requirements

• Deep knowledge of U.S. sales and use tax, including compliance, nexus analysis, audits, and exemption management.
• Experience researching indirect tax issues, including product and service taxability.
• Knowledge of at least one data-focused tool, such as Python, SQL, or Alteryx.
• Knowledge of accounting principles and processes.
• Strong communication, multitasking, and time-management skills in a fast-paced environment.
• Ability to work independently, define problems, and own solutions end to end.
