Senior Engineer II-Test (RF Test)

Location: Lowell, Massachusetts, United States; onsite role. The position requires access to US export-controlled technology, so candidates must provide proof of US citizenship, permanent US residency, or protected-individual status. Travel: 0%–25%.

Annual base salary: $70,304–$205,000 USD, depending on location, skills, and experience.

What you will do

• Design, upgrade, and maintain automated test stations, fixtures, sockets, interfaces, and interface PCBs.
• Develop and maintain test software and associated data structures.
• Design test interface hardware and select or procure cost-effective test equipment and software for production and engineering needs.
• Support reliable and scalable testing across discrete, MMIC, and GaN RF and microwave products.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product Line Management, Engineering Support, manufacturing, vendors, and equipment manufacturers.
• Mentor and provide technical guidance to junior engineers and team members without formal people-management responsibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline.
• 7.5–9 years of software development experience using LabWindows/CVI, C, Microsoft Visual Studio, .NET, or Visual Basic.
• Demonstrated experience mentoring, coaching, or providing technical guidance to junior engineers or team members.
• Experience with Configuration Management principles and tools.
• Working knowledge of electronic systems and strong mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to design and interpret electrical circuits and schematics.
• Experience with troubleshooting, diagnostics, and root-cause analysis of technical systems.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and engineering or design tools such as AutoCAD, Altium, or similar schematic and PCB layout software.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and strong written and verbal communication skills for presenting technical concepts, data, and engineering reports.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related engineering discipline with 5–6 years of relevant professional experience.
• Experience with database design, management, or data storage systems.
• Experience with Linux-based systems and environments.
• Familiarity with GPIB, USB, and Ethernet communication and instrumentation protocols.
• Understanding of IP networking concepts, including configuration, addressing, and routing.
• Experience with PuTTY, VNC, Remote Desktop, or similar remote access and terminal tools.
• Experience with Git version control in Windows and Linux environments.
• Experience with PCB design, layout, and fabrication processes.
• Hands-on experience with RF test and measurement equipment such as network analyzers, oscilloscopes, and signal generators.
