OS Tool Software Engineer (Automotive)

What you will do

• Specify, design, and implement functionality and user experiences for Vehicle OS tools.
• Develop messaging monitoring and recording/replay tools.
• Build and maintain a vehicle emulator for developer and production environments.
• Work with distributed messaging systems based on the Data Distribution Service (DDS) specification.
• Contribute to software and tools for software-defined vehicles and autonomous driving platforms.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Strong command of C and C++.
• Experience with Linux system software development, including distributed computing.
• Understanding of distributed computing systems, including setup, usage, and development.
• Familiarity with distributed protocols or frameworks such as gRPC, Protobuf, SomeIP, or DDS.
• Fluent English required.

Nice to have

• Experience with or willingness to learn Rust; proficiency in Rust is an advantage.
• Experience with DDS or ROS2 and containerized environments.
• Knowledge of automotive products, especially Vehicle API, and hardware signal simulation or model-based design such as SIL and HIL.
• Experience working with multi-site, multinational, and multi-contributor teams.
• Knowledge of time-series databases or analytics platforms such as InfluxDB, Prometheus, Grafana, or Tableau.
