Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States

Annual base salary: $113,600–$156,200, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

  • Develop multi-year sourcing strategies for post-processing capital equipment, including heat treatment, depowdering, HIP, and surface finishing systems.
  • Lead sourcing, negotiations, contracting, and commercial execution with equipment OEMs and subcontracted processing providers.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations on specifications, supplier qualification, factory acceptance testing, commissioning, and delivery milestones.
  • Manage the full CAPEX procurement lifecycle from business cases and budget alignment through purchase orders, expediting, and delivery confirmation.
  • Build and manage qualified supplier panels for machining, coating, HIP, EDM, and finishing services against cost, quality, and turnaround KPIs.
  • Develop should-cost and total-cost-of-ownership models, savings roadmaps, risk registers, and single-source mitigation plans.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or Supply Chain preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive procurement or supply chain experience, including at least 5 years managing capital or industrial equipment categories.
  • Experience sourcing and contracting for complex manufacturing equipment, including OEM negotiations, factory acceptance testing, and multi-site delivery programs.
  • Technical fluency in post-processing or precision manufacturing equipment such as heat treatment, machining, coating, or surface finishing systems.
  • Strong financial acumen in CAPEX budget management, should-cost modeling, and lease-versus-buy analysis.
  • Ability to work independently and partner effectively with Engineering and Operations in a technically complex environment.

Nice to have

  • Experience in additive manufacturing, aerospace, defense, or medical device manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with heat treatment, HIP, EDM, precision machining, and regulated supply chains such as AS9100, ISO 13485, or NADCAP.
  • CPSM, CPM, or equivalent professional certification.
  • Experience with ITAR/DFARS-regulated supply chains and government program procurement.
  • Experience with Epicor, SAP, or similar ERP and CAPEX tracking systems.
