Food Safety Specialist

What you will do

• Lead the implementation and maintenance of food safety management systems across distribution centres and logistics operations.
• Conduct internal food safety audits and hygiene inspections, identify gaps, and implement corrective and preventive actions.
• Monitor temperature control, traceability, product handling, and cold-chain integrity across storage and transport.
• Investigate food safety incidents, contamination risks, and product integrity issues, including root cause analysis, quarantine, and recall procedures.
• Deliver food safety training to warehouse staff, drivers, supervisors, and other operational teams.
• Monitor suppliers, contractors, and third-party logistics partners, and report food safety performance to senior management.

Requirements

• Experience in food safety or quality management within logistics, warehousing, or food distribution.
• Strong knowledge of food safety management systems and regulatory requirements.
• Experience implementing HACCP and hygiene controls in storage and distribution environments.
• Experience supporting external food safety audits and driving compliance with operational teams.
• Level 4 Food Safety / HACCP qualification or equivalent, plus HACCP certification.

Nice to have

• Degree in Food Science, Food Safety, Environmental Health, or a related discipline.
