Supplier Quality Assurance Technologist (Food Manufacturing)

What you will do

• Coordinate approval and ongoing performance monitoring for raw material suppliers, packaging suppliers, and contract manufacturers.
• Maintain supplier approval systems, records, specifications, certifications, and technical documentation in an audit-ready condition.
• Conduct supplier and ingredient food safety risk assessments, including VACCP evaluations and horizon scanning.
• Provide technical support for new product development and ensure materials and packaging meet safety, legal, and quality standards.
• Build supplier relationships and drive improvements that reduce complaints, non-conformances, and supply chain risks.
• Analyse supplier performance metrics and support internal, customer, and third-party audits, including BRCGS, ISO, and FDA audits.

Requirements

• Degree in Food Science, Microbiology, Chemistry, or a related scientific discipline, or equivalent food industry experience.
• Experience in Supplier Quality Assurance, Technical, or Quality Assurance roles within food manufacturing, nutrition, FMCG, or related sectors.
• Strong knowledge of HACCP, GMP, food hygiene regulations, risk assessment, food safety regulations, and quality management systems.
• Experience reviewing supplier documentation and specifications and conducting first- or second-party audits.
• Strong analytical, communication, stakeholder management, organisational, and prioritisation skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications for reporting, analysis, and communication.

Nice to have

• Experience with BRCGS, ISO, FDA, or equivalent food safety and quality standards.
• Practical knowledge of TACCP and VACCP principles, food defence, and fraud prevention.
• Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor qualifications.
• Experience with external certification or regulatory audits and sports nutrition, supplements, food manufacturing, or FMCG.
