Field Applications Engineer (Edge AI)

Location: On-site in Redwood City or San Francisco, California, United States

Salary: $160,000–$195,000 base pay per year

What you will do

• Act as the primary technical contact for customers, sales, distributors, product management, and engineering.
• Support customer programs from product discovery and evaluation through design-in, launch, and production.
• Help customers evaluate, integrate, and deploy edge AI, processor, sensor, and software solutions.
• Lead product demonstrations, technical workshops, customer training, and application reviews.
• Troubleshoot hardware, software, and system-level issues and drive them to resolution.
• Create technical documentation and share customer requirements, issues, and market feedback with internal teams.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in field applications, applications engineering, systems engineering, embedded product support, technical product management, or a similar customer-facing technical role.
• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, physics, mechanical engineering, or a related technical field preferred.
• Strong embedded systems experience with processors, microcontrollers, sensors, audio, connectivity, or related semiconductor technologies.
• Working knowledge of embedded software, firmware, drivers, development kits, operating systems, and customer prototype environments.
• Ability to understand customer requirements, explain technical tradeoffs, recommend practical solutions, and work cross-functionally with sales, product, business, and engineering teams.
• Availability to travel to customer sites, trade shows, sales regions, and hirify.global locations as needed.

• Experience with edge AI, machine learning deployment, low-power systems, acoustic applications, or competitive product analysis.
