GRC and Advisory Consultant (Cybersecurity)

What you will do

• Deliver cybersecurity governance, risk, advisory, and compliance services for Federal Government departments.
• Advise internal teams and clients on security and compliance requirements.
• Develop security policies and procedures aligned with the ISM and PSPF.
• Implement Essential Eight controls and support IRAP pre-assessments and certification or accreditation activities.
• Assess internet, application, web, network, Windows, and Linux security.
• Produce high-quality technical documentation and communicate with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of IT experience, including 2–4 years in information security, risk, audit, or a similar field.
• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree, or equivalent demonstrated experience.
• Strong knowledge of PSPF, ISM, Essential Eight, DSPF, ISO 27000, NIST CSF/800 series, and CIS.
• Experience with cybersecurity GRC, risk management frameworks, security policy development, Essential Eight implementation, and IRAP activities.
• Strong technical writing and stakeholder communication skills.
• NV1 Security Clearance is mandatory, and the role is based in Australia.

Nice to have

• Experience supporting or mentoring a small team of security consultants.
• Experience uplifting security assurance across government, business, and vendor environments.
• IRAP Assessor experience.
• Certifications such as CISSP, CISA, CISM, IRAP, or GSEC, or progress toward them.
