Satellite Communications Engineer

What you will do

• Own the end-to-end communications chain from operator terminals and ground infrastructure to spacecraft interfaces.
• Integrate and validate communications hardware, software, configurations, and external services.
• Coordinate with external partners and service providers to activate communications capabilities and resolve integration issues.
• Plan and execute system bring-up, operational validation, interference, and spacecraft-level self-compatibility testing.
• Provide technical inputs for spectrum licensing and coordination activities.
• Define operational procedures, contingencies, and tooling for flight operations while collaborating with spacecraft, avionics, software, GNC, and mission operations engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Telecommunications, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• Practical experience with RF communication chains, communications system integration, or ground and space communications operations.
• Experience with verification, troubleshooting, EMI/EMC or interference testing, and debugging across subsystem boundaries.
• Familiarity with radios, antennas, cabling, link configurations, and communications test equipment.
• Experience coordinating technical integration with external vendors, service providers, or partners.
• Ability to produce clear technical documentation and communicate effectively across engineering and operations teams.

Nice to have

• Experience planning and executing operational RF tests and end-to-end signal-chain validation.
• Experience working with or managing third-party ground-station networks.
• Experience in satellite communications, spacecraft operations, or other mission-critical communications environments.
• Experience in fast-moving, multidisciplinary engineering teams with ownership of outcomes.
