Member of Technical Staff, Machine Learning Engineer (AI)

Salary: $240,000–$350,000 per year, plus equity

What you will do

• Translate qualitative challenges in scientific AI agents into well-formulated, optimizable problems.
• Build environments for training and deploying agents that solve scientific tasks.
• Partner with scientists to design and scale observable, reproducible training data pipelines.
• Lead training of large-scale LLM-based systems and develop infrastructure for experimentation and production training.
• Build flexible inference infrastructure supporting complex sampling algorithms and custom architectures.
• Extend experimentation platforms and collaborate with AI researchers, chemists, and biologists.

Requirements

• 5–10+ years of experience in applied ML research and applying ML methods to real-world problems.
• Experience across the ML lifecycle, including data provenance, model training, deployment, and production validation.
• Fluency in PyTorch, JAX, or an equivalent framework.
• Strong programming skills across data, ML, and LLM software stacks.
• PhD in Machine Learning, Computer Science, or another quantitative field.
• Experience with distributed computing resources and complex distributed systems architecture.
