Software Engineer, ML Infra (AI)

Location: Mountain View, California, United States

Annual base salary: $180,000–$225,000 USD

What you will do

• Design and develop machine learning infrastructure for Ads and Recommendations products.
• Own core systems for offline and online model training, model serving, feature authoring, and feature serving.
• Build and maintain model pipeline health monitoring and proactively address issues affecting production.
• Improve training speed, serving performance, latency, cost, and offline-online feature consistency.
• Collaborate with machine learning engineers to build robust production model pipelines.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 5+ years of relevant experience, or an MS/PhD with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Experience delivering production systems that support machine learning training or serving use cases.
• Proven experience building and maintaining large-scale distributed backend systems.
• Proficiency in Python and strong understanding of object-oriented languages such as C++ or Java.
• Strong problem-solving, teamwork, and communication skills.

Nice to have

• Experience leading cross-team projects from design through stable rollout.
• Experience iterating on machine learning models and shipping them to production.
