TL;DR
Cloud Security Engineer (Fintech): Designing and building cloud-native preventative and detective security controls, tooling, and automation for modern banking infrastructure with an accent on threat modelling, Kubernetes, distributed systems, and public cloud security. Focus on automating infrastructure assessments, developing security tools in Go or Python, and solving complex security problems across AWS and GCP environments.
Location: Lisbon, Portugal; onsite four days per week
Salary: €50K–€75K per year

What you will do
- Provide security expertise and mentorship during engineering planning, design, and testing.
- Co-develop threat models and mitigation strategies with engineering teams.
- Design and build scalable cloud-native preventative and detective security controls.
- Automate audits and assessments of infrastructure-as-code and deployed infrastructure.
- Develop security tooling, integrate third-party products, and maintain security automation.
- Perform security reviews and testing while contributing to security strategy and tooling selection.
Requirements
- Experience building and deploying containerized applications in public cloud environments using CI/CD and infrastructure automation.
- Knowledge of cloud networking, cloud operations, security, automation, and orchestration.
- Experience with threat modeling, design reviews, distributed-system security, containers, and Kubernetes.
- Programming experience in Go, Python, or another modern programming language, including security-tool development and automation.
- Experience securing public cloud environments such as AWS and GCP.
- Experience with Git and strong interpersonal and communication skills.
Nice to have
- Experience building and operating distributed systems at scale.
- Knowledge of well-architected cloud security frameworks or CSA-CCM.
- Contributions to the security community through research, blogging, or presentations.
- Experience with web application penetration testing, security tooling, and cloud provider APIs.
