Software Engineer (.Net, Angular)

Location: Budapest, Hungary; hybrid work with onsite attendance at least 50% of the time for employees within commuting distance of a hirify.global office

What you will do

• Design, build, and maintain secure backend services and RESTful APIs using C#/.NET Core in AWS.
• Develop scalable microservices supporting SaaS products and contribute to end-to-end features in Angular.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, documentation, and knowledge sharing.
• Modernize legacy services and improve engineering practices, including security, performance, and maintainability.
• Use AI-assisted development tools for coding, testing, and debugging while validating their correctness and safety.
• Collaborate with Product, DevOps, QA, and engineering teams to deliver integrated solutions.

Requirements

• Approximately 3–5 years of professional software engineering experience in an agile environment.
• Strong C# and .NET Core experience building RESTful APIs.
• Familiarity with AWS or another cloud platform and basic serverless concepts.
• Experience with SQL databases such as PostgreSQL and/or NoSQL databases.
• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and basic infrastructure concepts; Docker experience is useful.
• Some frontend experience, preferably with Angular, plus knowledge of software security practices and effective team communication.

Nice to have

• Experience using AI tools for coding, debugging, or testing and the ability to critically review their output.
• Infrastructure as Code experience.
• Degree in Computer Science or Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
