Spacecraft RF Engineer (Aerospace)

Location: Los Angeles, United States. U.S. Person status is required to access export-controlled data. The role includes collaboration from the Playa Vista office.

Salary: $175,000–$215,000 per year, plus equity.

What you will do

• Design and develop RF, digital, and optical satellite communication systems and spacecraft architectures.
• Define and verify communication system requirements, interfaces, and subcomponent requirements.
• Perform link budgeting, signal distortion, capacity, reliability, and performance analyses and simulations.
• Develop MATLAB-based analysis tools and system algorithms.
• Lead hardware procurement, integration, design reviews, verification, and testing.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and payload customers to meet vehicle and payload requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of spacecraft RF and telemetry communications experience.
• Experience across multiple spacecraft programs.
• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or a related field.
• Extensive experience in spacecraft design, launch, operation, and the full development lifecycle.
• Experience with integrated software and hardware verification and testing.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills for working with multiple audiences.
