Senior Software Engineer AI

Location: Pleasanton, United States. Candidates within a reasonable commute to a hirify.global office must work onsite at least 3 days per week.

Salary: $145,000–$182,000 per year, plus eligible short-term and long-term incentive programs.

What you will do

• Lead the development and optimization of PySpark ETL pipelines and integrations with client data sources, including APIs, FiveTran, Plaid, and internal connectors.
• Design production infrastructure for ML models and LLM-based agents, including model registries, feature stores, inference APIs, and agent runtimes.
• Build CI/CD and experimentation frameworks for model validation, prompt evaluation, regression testing, deployment, and rollback.
• Implement guardrails, authentication, authorization, audit controls, lineage tracking, and compliance mechanisms for AI systems.
• Develop observability and monitoring for data quality, model performance, agent behavior, latency, safety events, and resource usage.
• Lead reliability and incident-response strategies while collaborating with data science, security, product, and engineering teams.

Requirements

• 3+ years of programming experience with Python, Java, or Scala.
• Experience with ML frameworks and orchestration tools such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, scikit-learn, Airflow, Kubeflow, Vertex AI, and MLflow.
• Production experience operating ML and LLM systems across GCP, AWS, or Azure.
• Experience with LangChain, LangGraph, ADK, or similar agentic runtime technologies.
• Strong CI/CD, infrastructure-as-code, DevSecOps, containerization, and Kubernetes skills.
• Experience with observability tools such as Prometheus, Grafana, or New Relic, plus knowledge of Responsible AI governance and auditability.

Nice to have

• Bash scripting and Apache Airflow experience.
• Experience optimizing cloud infrastructure and applying network security protocols.
• Strong critical thinking and the ability to evaluate models, identify limitations, and propose solutions.
• Interest in rapidly evolving AI and data science technologies.
