Propulsion Development Engineer (Aerospace)

What you will do

• Own development engine test campaigns from planning through execution and post-test analysis.
• Define and refine engine test plans, procedures, setpoints, and technical documentation.
• Support live hot-fire and subsystem testing and make decisions during test operations.
• Diagnose test-related issues across engine hardware, instrumentation, sensors, and procedures.
• Develop Python tools for data processing, visualization, automated analysis, and reporting.
• Translate test data into performance characterization, root cause analysis, and actionable engineering improvements.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Hands-on experience with hardware build, integration, or test operations.
• Experience developing or executing engineering test plans and procedures.
• Proficiency in Python for data analysis and automation.
• Strong understanding of sensors, instrumentation, and diagnostic techniques.
• Must meet U.S. export control requirements as a U.S. person or otherwise be eligible for deemed export licensing.

Nice to have

• Experience with liquid rocket engines or air-breathing propulsion systems.
• Familiarity with high-speed data acquisition and telemetry systems.
• Background in thermofluids, combustion, or turbomachinery.
• Experience in fast-paced, iterative hardware development environments.
• Ownership of hardware or test systems through multiple development cycles.
