Sr. Manufacturing Engineer (Inconel)

Location: Devens, Massachusetts, United States; onsite role. Must be a U.S. Person due to export-controlled technologies.

Annual base salary: $99,584–$136,929, plus equity and comprehensive benefits.

What you will do

• Develop, qualify, and optimize Inconel laser powder bed fusion manufacturing processes for safety, quality, throughput, and cost.
• Own process development for new products from print parameter development through production release.
• Support daily production by troubleshooting print failures, process variation, equipment issues, and quality deviations.
• Analyze manufacturing data using statistical methods, SPC, and DOE to improve capability and reduce variability.
• Develop manufacturing documentation, including SOPs, work instructions, process specifications, and engineering standards.
• Lead root-cause investigations, process validation, production readiness, and cross-functional scale-up activities.

Requirements

• 5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in metal additive manufacturing, precision manufacturing, aerospace, or another high-volume manufacturing environment.
• Experience with LPBF, metal additive manufacturing, CNC machining, or similarly complex manufacturing processes.
• Strong knowledge of process development, statistical process control, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement.
• Experience creating manufacturing documentation and troubleshooting complex production issues.
• Excellent communication and cross-functional collaboration skills.
• Must be a U.S. Person due to export-controlled technologies.

Nice to have

• Experience developing processes for Inconel or other nickel-based superalloys.
• Knowledge of metallurgy, heat treatment, residual stress management, and LPBF defect mechanisms.
• Experience with process validation, DOE, PFMEA, SPC, Six Sigma, MES, ERP, or manufacturing data systems.
• High-volume production, NPI, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement experience.
