Security Lead (Cybersecurity)

Location: Austin, Texas or Sunnyvale, California; full-time onsite position

Salary: $180,000–$235,000 annually, plus equity

What you will do

• Design and defend cloud, network, physical lab, and office infrastructure using zero-trust access, secure perimeters, IAM, RBAC, and MFA.
• Protect engineering compute environments, CAD/EDA tools, and proprietary chip-design repositories from exfiltration and unauthorized access.
• Own vulnerability management, SIEM/EDR, intrusion detection, continuous logging, and threat-detection programs.
• Lead incident response as primary incident commander, including forensic analysis and root-cause post-mortems.
• Lead customer, investor, and vendor security assessments and respond to security questionnaires and technical due diligence.
• Own security policies, data handling controls, export-control safeguards, and the SOC 2 Type II certification program.

Requirements

• 8+ years of experience in security engineering, infrastructure security, or cybersecurity leadership, including primary security ownership at a company with fewer than 200 people.
• Hands-on ownership of a SIEM/EDR stack and IAM/PAM architecture using Okta or an equivalent modern identity provider.
• Direct experience leading a SOC 2 Type II audit cycle and delivering evidence to auditors.
• Experience with vendor security assessments, customer security questionnaires, and technical due diligence.
• Working knowledge of ITAR/EAR export-control frameworks and proficiency with at least one major public cloud; Azure is preferred.
• Willingness to work onsite in Austin or Sunnyvale and across both locations as needed.

Nice to have

• CISSP, CISM, CCSP, or OSCP certification.
• Experience with Vanta, Drata, or a similar GRC automation platform.
• Experience securing semiconductor EDA/CAD workflows, Linux compute clusters, or physical R&D lab environments.
