TL;DR
Sr. Specialist – Security & FuSa. Integration (Automotive Cybersecurity): Integrating and validating cybersecurity and functional-safety mechanisms across distributed ECU architectures and Software Defined Vehicle platforms with an accent on secure boot, OTA security, ISO 26262, ISO/SAE 21434, and vehicle-level testing. Focus on designing penetration and fault-injection tests, validating recovery and rollback behavior, and analyzing CAN/Ethernet logs across SIL, HIL, and real-vehicle environments.

Location: Charlotte, North Carolina, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Salary: $140,000–$170,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

What you will do

  • Integrate and validate cybersecurity mechanisms across distributed ECU architectures and Software Defined Vehicle platforms.
  • Test secure boot, secure flashing, ECU authentication, secure diagnostics, vehicle communication security, OTA workflows, cryptographic services, keys, and certificates.
  • Validate cybersecurity and functional-safety controls against ISO/SAE 21434, UNECE R155/R156, ISO 26262, and OEM requirements.
  • Develop penetration, vulnerability, fault-injection, watchdog, diagnostic-coverage, fail-safe, and fail-operational testing strategies.
  • Design regression suites across SIL, HIL, simulated, real-world, and vehicle-level environments.
  • Analyze CAN/Ethernet logs, investigate cross-ECU timing and integration issues, and collaborate with system safety, platform, and software teams.

Requirements

  • Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field with 10+ years of experience.
  • Strong knowledge of vehicle E/E architecture, ECU software stacks, CAN, LIN, FlexRay, Ethernet, UDS diagnostics, and diagnostic tools.
  • Experience with MATLAB/Simulink plant and control models, dSPACE ControlDesk, AutomationDesk, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Expertise with Jira, GitHub/GitLab, Jenkins, Artifactory, and ALM/PLM tools such as Siemens Polarion, IBM DOORS Next Generation, or PTC Windchill.
  • Familiarity with embedded systems, A2B, Automotive Ethernet, LVDS, CANalyzer, CANoe, vehicle network tools, and automotive development processes.
  • Ability to work in the Charlotte office 4–5 days per week and travel for company events.
