Product Security Engineer (IoT)

Location: Hybrid in Lincolnshire, Illinois; minimum of 3 days per week onsite in the office

Salary: $122,800–$184,200 annual base pay, plus a target annual cash incentive equal to 12% of base pay

What you will do

• Define and prioritize security requirements with product management and engineering stakeholders.
• Participate in architecture reviews and threat modeling for software, firmware, hardware, and cloud integrations.
• Implement security controls and best practices throughout the secure software development lifecycle and CI/CD pipeline.
• Investigate product vulnerabilities, lead remediation efforts, and participate in security incident response.
• Oversee penetration testing, code reviews, and security assessments; manage tools such as SAST, DAST, and SCA.
• Respond to customer security questionnaires and audits, maintain security documentation, deliver training, and mentor junior engineers.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Cybersecurity, or a related technical discipline.
• 6+ years of experience in product security, embedded systems security, or a closely related field.
• Hands-on experience securing embedded systems, software, or IoT devices.
• Ability to collaborate with hardware, firmware, software, systems engineering, product management, and corporate security teams.
• Strong communication skills for explaining complex security risks to technical teams and executive leadership.

Nice to have

• Master’s degree in engineering or cybersecurity.
• Programming experience with C, C++, Python, or Java.
• Expertise in TPM, TrustZone, secure boot, tamper resistance, or cryptography.
• Experience with IoT, connected devices, or AIDC technologies and standards such as IEC 62443 or FIPS 140.
• Security certifications such as CISSP, CSSLP, GSEC, or equivalent.
