Senior Specialist, Direct Procurement-Battery And Powertrain (Automotive)

Location: Novi, Michigan, United States; 4–5 days per week in the office with regular in-person meetings and occasional travel.

Salary: $110,000–$135,000 annual base salary, plus eligibility for an annual performance bonus.

hirify.global is developing electrified pickup trucks and rugged SUVs, including all-electric and range-extender powertrain products.

What you will do

• Establish and execute North American battery and powertrain purchasing and supply strategies for REEV production.
• Source and secure supply for battery cells, battery systems, powertrain, and REEV components.
• Lead purchasing project steering, timing management, milestone planning, and supplier readiness activities.
• Coordinate purchasing deliverables with Engineering, Quality, Manufacturing, Logistics, and Program Management.
• Maintain project dashboards, milestone status, and risk overviews through vehicle launch and production ramp-up.
• Lead cross-functional readiness meetings and ensure adherence to program milestones.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or a related financial field.
• 8+ years of experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment, preferably in Project Buyer or Project Steering roles.
• 2–4 years of purchasing experience involving procurement or commodity strategy development and execution.
• Knowledge of automotive manufacturing processes and experience with program management, supplier performance, and cross-functional schedules.
• Experience with vehicle launch management, ramp-up, readiness checks, supplier PPAP, APQP, and industrialization processes.
• Strong analytical, communication, collaboration, problem-solving, and stakeholder-management skills.

Nice to have

• Experience with battery cells or modules, electric drive components, power electronics, or e-powertrain manufacturing.
• Experience managing vehicle launch activities.
