Staff Software Engineer (AI)

Location: San Francisco; in-person work required 4–5 days per week

Salary: $300,000–$400,000 per year, plus equity and benefits.

What you will do

• Build systems that enable autonomous buildings to operate and communicate intelligently.
• Develop and own product features end-to-end, from design through deployment, in collaboration with customers.
• Improve the scalability and reliability of core infrastructure.
• Define and implement architecture improvements and engineering design patterns.
• Collaborate with product and design to turn AI capabilities into user-facing experiences.
• Continuously ship features and improvements while applying testing, observability, and continuous integration practices.

Requirements

• 6+ years of coding experience.
• Experience leading the design, delivery, and long-term ownership of multiple production-grade products.
• Strong understanding of system design and scalable architecture principles.
• Ability to solve complex problems independently with minimal guidance.
• Strong ownership, urgency, pragmatism, and bias for action in a startup environment.
• Willingness to work in person at the San Francisco office 4–5 days per week.
