Staff Data Platform Engineer (AI)

Location: United States; hybrid near a hirify.global hub with at least 2 office days per week, or fully remote if not located near a hub. US hubs: Austin, TX; New York City, NY; San Francisco, CA; and Arlington, VA. Hybrid roles require up to 25% travel; remote roles require up to 50% travel.

Base salary: $216,000–$270,000 annually in New York City and San Francisco; $194,400–$243,000 annually in other locations.

What you will do

• Architect, build, and maintain scalable, enterprise-grade data systems.
• Centralize and standardize data collection, transformation, storage, serving, and analysis.
• Build platform capabilities supporting ML and GenAI data delivery, processing, and infrastructure.
• Enable internal and customer-facing reporting and analytics.
• Manage data infrastructure, vendors, tooling, and operational processes.
• Set the technical direction and standards for the data platform over a 1–2 year horizon, mentoring and influencing engineers across the organization.

Requirements

• 7+ years of experience in data platform engineering, data infrastructure, or related technical roles.
• Strong programming background, such as Python.
• Operational maturity with CI/CD, Infrastructure as Code, Kubernetes, monitoring, distributed systems, security, and privacy best practices.
• Experience building and maintaining analytics stacks such as Snowflake, dbt, and Looker.
• Experience running GenAI or ML systems in production, including MLOps tooling, vector search, embedding stores, or feature engineering at scale.
• Experience architecting data systems with technologies such as Airflow and Kafka.
