Embedded Engineer (Robotics)

Location: Bay Area, United States; on-site with travel to collection, partner, and customer sites.

What you will do

• Stand up robotic data-collection stations and partner sites, keeping them running and producing accepted collection hours.
• Travel to customer sites and work directly with customer teams to resolve operational problems.
• Own site and floor issues end to end by diagnosing problems across hardware, software, and data, implementing fixes, and preventing recurrence.
• Translate field observations into tickets and data requests for model, platform, and hardware teams.
• Support the setup and acceptance of new tasks and sites, and improve task specifications and acceptance criteria.
• Support multiple sites in person and remotely as operations expand.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience keeping robotics, hardware, teleoperation, or data-systems operations running in real-world environments.
• Ability to debug across hardware, software, and data.
• Working knowledge of Linux and Python.
• Comfort working directly with customers on their sites and willingness to travel to collection, partner, and customer locations.
• Ability to translate between operators and researchers and take ownership of urgent operational issues.

Nice to have

• Experience in robotics, embodied AI, or autonomous-vehicle operations.
