Senior Financial Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Milan, Italy; hybrid work with three days per week in-office on Tuesday, Thursday, and one additional chosen day. Extra remote time may be requested.

Salary: €40,000–€52,000 gross per annum.

What you will do

• Own General Ledger and subledger accounting, including accounts payable and receivable, suspense account clearing, and bank reconciliations.
• Prepare and review balance sheet reconciliations and maintain clear supporting documentation.
• Manage fixed asset and Capex accounting, capitalization policies, and amortization schedules.
• Oversee payroll accounting entries, accruals, and reconciliations with external providers.
• Support statutory audits, VAT and tax filings, and related regulatory documentation.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting controls, efficiency, and documentation.

Requirements

• At least 5 years of accounting experience in fintech, finance, or corporate services, including full closing cycles.
• Strong knowledge of Italian and/or Luxembourg GAAP; IFRS exposure is a plus.
• Experience managing complex accounting topics and taking ownership of assigned entities.
• Proficiency with structured ERP environments, advanced spreadsheets, and analytical accounting work.
• Fluent Italian and English required for communication with international teams.
• Ability to work accurately in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines.

Nice to have

• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA.
• Experience with automation, data tools, or scripting-based accounting workflows.
• Exposure to IFRS.
