Senior Financial Accountant (Fintech)

Location: Milan, Italy; hybrid with three days per week in-office (Tuesday and Thursday plus one additional day of choice), with the option to request extra remote time.

Salary: €40,000–€52,000 gross per annum.

What you will do

• Own general ledger accounting, subledger reconciliations, accounts payable and receivable ledgers, suspense accounts, and bank movement reconciliations.
• Prepare and review detailed balance sheet reconciliations with complete traceability and documentation.
• Manage fixed asset and Capex accounting, including capitalization policies and amortization schedules.
• Oversee payroll accounting entries, accruals, and reconciliations with external providers and statutory records.
• Support statutory audits, VAT and other tax filings, and the preparation of high-quality accounting documentation.
• Identify and implement improvements to accounting efficiency, controls, and documentation.

Requirements

• At least five years of accounting experience in fintech, finance, or corporate services, including full closing cycles.
• Strong knowledge of local accounting principles, especially Italian and/or Luxembourg GAAP; IFRS exposure is a plus.
• Ability to independently manage complex accounting topics, assigned entities, tight deadlines, and high-precision work.
• Experience with structured ERP environments, modern digital accounting tools, advanced spreadsheets, and strong analytical skills.
• Fluent Italian and English required for communication with international teams.
• Knowledge of SAP S/4HANA, automation, data tools, or scripting-based workflows is advantageous.
