Senior Internal Auditor (Projects)

Location: Milan, Italy; willing to travel up to 30%

Salary: €72,000 gross per year minimum, with final compensation based on level, skills, experience, and qualifications.

What you will do

• Lead and execute audits of large international EPC projects.
• Review project governance, project controls, cost, schedule, and contract management.
• Assess execution risks and identify root causes of delays and cost overruns.
• Recommend practical improvements and partner with project leadership to reduce delivery risk.
• Present clear, business-focused insights to Project Directors, Construction Managers, and other senior stakeholders.
• Support data-driven improvements to governance and internal control frameworks.

Requirements

• Degree in Project Management, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 7–15 years of experience in EPC or large industrial projects.
• Expertise in project governance, cost and schedule control, contracts, risk, claims, or construction management.
• Strong understanding of the EPC project lifecycle, CAPEX governance, and project controls.
• Experience with Primavera or MS Project.
• Strong analytical, communication, negotiation, and stakeholder-management skills, with high integrity and business acumen.
