Senior Linux Kernel Driver Engineer (AI)

What you will do

• Design, develop, and maintain the Linux kernel driver for an AI accelerator.
• Build performance-critical kernel-space paths for PCIe device management, DMA, memory handling, interrupt handling, and recovery.
• Define and evolve the userspace interface used by the runtime, emphasizing stability, debuggability, and performance.
• Collaborate with hardware, firmware, runtime, and ML engineers through pre-silicon simulation, bring-up, and end-to-end validation.
• Improve tooling and workflows while maintaining software quality and reliability.

Requirements

• Production experience shipping and maintaining Linux kernel device drivers.
• Strong understanding of computer architecture, concurrency, and systems performance.
• Excellent C and/or Rust skills, with a focus on secure and maintainable kernel code.
• Ability to investigate complex kernel and system-level problems through to measurable performance improvements.
• Degree in Computer Science, Electronic Engineering, Maths, Physics, or a related field, plus 3+ years of industry experience.

Nice to have

• Experience with PCIe-attached devices, custom hardware interfaces, GPUs, ML accelerators, or high-throughput I/O.
• Hardware bring-up or pre-silicon simulation experience.
• Experience with profiling, tracing, benchmarking, and regression tracking.
