What you will do
- Own frame-time budgets and drive GPU/CPU rendering performance across target platforms.
- Profile, diagnose, and optimize geometry, shading, lighting, post-processing, and the full rendering pipeline.
- Adapt profiling methods to Nyx's non-standard hybrid pipeline and build custom instrumentation and performance counters.
- Evolve hybrid rasterization and ray-tracing rendering paths.
- Review rendering architecture, mentor senior engineers, and set a high technical bar.
- Work with hardware vendors on low-level GPU issues and target hardware.
Requirements
- 10+ years of real-time rendering experience, including shipped AAA titles where rendering performance was owned.
- Expertise with PIX, Razor GPU/CPU, RGP, Nsight, raw GPU counters, and profiling unfamiliar pipelines.
- Deep knowledge of modern GPU architectures, including AMD RDNA, wave occupancy, cache behavior, and async compute.
- Strong low-level command of D3D12, Vulkan, and at least one console graphics API.
- Hands-on experience building or optimizing hybrid rendering pipelines.
- Expert-level C++ and HLSL/GLSL skills, including shader disassembly when required.
Nice to have
- Experience with non-standard pipelines such as neural rendering, splatting, or offline/realtime hybrids.
- Experience integrating and tuning DLSS or FSR upscalers and frame generation.
- Contributions to engine-level rendering architecture in Unreal Engine or proprietary engines.
