Director of Product Design

Location: Hybrid — Vancouver, BC; Portland, OR; San Francisco, CA; Seattle, WA; or remote from Canada

Compensation: Vancouver and remote Canada CA$250,000–CA$350,000 total compensation; West Coast US $250,000–$350,000 total compensation. Equity is offered.

What you will do

• Define and champion the product design vision in alignment with business goals and user needs.
• Recruit, lead, mentor, and inspire an in-house team of product designers.
• Own and improve a cohesive, scalable design system across design files, products, and code bases.
• Integrate product design, product management, and engineering processes into the software development lifecycle.
• Lead workshops, design reviews, and stakeholder alignment across teams and departments.
• Guide the creation of accessible, responsive, scalable, and visually compelling web and mobile experiences.

Requirements

• 10+ years of product design experience with a strong portfolio of innovative and impactful work.
• Proven experience managing and mentoring design teams.
• Expertise with an in-house design system implemented consistently across design files and code bases.
• Experience designing scalable user research and usability processes.
• Strong proficiency with Figma and strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.

Nice to have

• Experience in SaaS, B2B, or marketplace products.
• Experience with data and product analytics tools.
• Proficiency in UX writing and content strategy.
