Senior Python Developer (Finance)

Location: Remote from Brazil, Argentina, Colombia, Peru, or Chile; collaboration during U.S. East Coast working hours

hirify.global is managing a long-term international contract project for a financial organization building a new portfolio management platform.

What you will do

• Design and build Python backend services and APIs for a greenfield portfolio management system.
• Implement, maintain, and troubleshoot Bloomberg API integrations for market data ingestion.
• Design and maintain the PostgreSQL and SQL data layer.
• Work with Snowflake as the cloud data warehouse and support infrastructure on Microsoft Azure.
• Build scalable, reliable, maintainable, and high-performance backend components.
• Collaborate with engineering stakeholders, participate in code reviews, and contribute to engineering quality practices.

Requirements

• Strong professional experience with Python, backend development, and API development.
• Hands-on experience integrating with the Bloomberg API.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and PostgreSQL.
• Experience designing and developing production backend systems and APIs.
• Ability to work autonomously in a greenfield environment and troubleshoot complex technical and integration issues.
• Professional English communication skills and consistent availability during U.S. East Coast hours are required.

Nice to have

• Experience with Snowflake or similar cloud data warehouses.
• Experience with Microsoft Azure.
• JavaScript knowledge.
• Background in capital markets, investment management, hedge funds, financial services, or market data products.
• Interest in AI/ML and AI-enabled financial applications.
