Senior Security Engineer (GCP)

What you will do

• Design and implement security architecture, controls, and secure-by-default practices across distributed systems, infrastructure, and APIs.
• Protect customer data and harden the production environment while raising security standards across shipped products.
• Establish best practices for identity and access management, cloud security, secure CI/CD, secrets management, vulnerability management, and production monitoring.
• Lead security and engineering projects and contribute to architectural decisions in collaboration with founders, engineers, and designers.
• Embed security into product architecture, code, and developer workflows while helping the engineering team ship quickly and safely.

Requirements

• Deep experience securing distributed backend systems at scale, including threat modeling and production defense design.
• Proven experience building and scaling products and embedding security into architecture, code, and developer workflows.
• Strong expertise in secure system design for resilient, performant, and maintainable services and APIs, including authentication, authorization, data protection, and service-to-service security.
• Strong proficiency with cloud environments, ideally Google Cloud Platform, including networking, IAM, organization policies, monitoring, and infrastructure as code.
• Hands-on experience with secrets management, key management, cryptography basics, encryption, least privilege, and secure data storage.
• Experience leading security or engineering projects and making architectural decisions in high-growth teams; strong Go experience is highly preferred.

Nice to have

• Experience securing AI/ML systems such as LLM and RAG applications, including private-data protection, prompt and data leakage prevention, and security guardrails.
• Exposure to Temporal as a worker management system.
