Director of Security (Cybersecurity)

Location: Torrance, California, United States; in-person work in Los Angeles, CA required

Salary: $200,000–$250,000 USD per year, plus potential equity

What you will do

• Design and implement a unified security strategy spanning facility, industrial, digital, and personnel security.
• Oversee access control, surveillance, inventory controls, facility hardening, and security infrastructure for current and future manufacturing sites.
• Drive security clearances, certifications, accreditations, and controls required for DCSA, ITAR/EAR, and other government compliance frameworks.
• Build and lead the CSO office, including an FSO, CISO, security personnel, and external security vendors.
• Define emergency response, insider-threat detection, crisis management, and business continuity protocols.
• Partner with executive and IT leadership to protect people, intellectual property, production lines, and complex network architectures.

Requirements

• 8+ years of progressive experience in corporate or government security, including at least 2 years at CSO, VP, or Director level.
• Current TS/SCI security clearance or the ability to obtain one.
• Experience owning both physical security and cybersecurity strategy.
• Expertise in access control, CCTV, intrusion detection systems, facility hardening, and manufacturing or critical-infrastructure security.
• Strong knowledge of NIST 800-171, CMMC, NISPOM, and ITAR/EAR.
• Willingness to work in person in Los Angeles, California.

Nice to have

• Experience obtaining Facility Security Clearances and guiding companies through FCL sponsorship.
• Intelligence community, military intelligence, or special operations experience.
• Experience with SCIF/SAPF construction and accreditation.
• Experience at hardware companies or scaling Series B+ companies.
