Principal Offensive Cyber Researcher (Cybersecurity)

Location: On-site in Arlington, VA / Washington DC area. Must be a U.S. citizen and eligible for a U.S. Government security clearance.

Salary: $192,000 – $281,000 base salary (Total compensation $281,000 – $455,000).

What you will do

• Define and drive the long-term technical vision for offensive cyber research and capabilities.
• Lead groundbreaking research into advanced adversary behaviors and next-generation offensive techniques.
• Architect and guide the development of scalable adversary emulation and attack automation systems.
• Mentor senior engineers and strengthen the organization’s technical leadership bench.
• Serve as the principal technical advisor to executive leadership and government stakeholders.
• Establish company-wide standards and best practices for offensive tooling and engineering quality.

Requirements

• 8–12 years of distinguished experience in offensive cyber operations, advanced research, or software development.
• U.S. citizenship is strictly required due to government contract and security mandates.
• Eligibility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance.
• Expert-level understanding of adversary behaviors, TTPs, and MITRE ATT&CK frameworks.
• Proven track record of leading large-scale technical initiatives and mentoring senior staff.
• Strong executive communication skills with experience briefing senior government leaders.

Nice to have

• Deep background in malware development, vulnerability research, or exploit engineering.
• Advanced technical certifications such as OSEE or GXPN.
• Experience with multi-source intelligence fusion or cross-domain operational environments.
• Track record of thought leadership through publications or conference talks.
