Data Engineer (AI)

Location: On-site in San Francisco or Palo Alto, United States

Salary: $150,000–$300,000 per year plus equity

What you will do

• Build data foundations for model training, product development, and company-wide analytics.
• Design pipelines that ingest and transform data at scale.
• Build storage and serving layers for fast, reliable data access.
• Establish data quality, lineage, and observability systems.
• Anticipate scaling bottlenecks and make architectural decisions for a growing data platform.

Requirements

• Deep understanding of distributed data processing.
• Strong data modeling skills.
• Experience designing reliable data systems and evaluating system trade-offs.
• Ability to reason about batch versus streaming, storage costs versus query performance, and custom versus off-the-shelf infrastructure.
• Willingness to work fully in person between the Palo Alto headquarters and San Francisco office.
