Biomedical Research & Data Governance, Associate (L1) (Biomedical Data Governance): Supporting responsible sharing of human biomedical research data through ethics, regulatory compliance, data access reviews, and governance processes with an accent on data stewardship, privacy, and research participant protections. Focus on coordinating access requests, monitoring compliance, investigating incidents, and improving SOPs and CAPA processes.

Location: Remote or hybrid within the United States; travel to on-site events in Seattle, Washington is required at least twice per year.

Annual salary: $57,800–$73,300.

What you will do

  • Execute data-sharing reviews for established biomedical research communities and apply data access controls.
  • Support data access request systems and respond to internal coordinators and external data requesters.
  • Help implement research governance policies covering study design, data collection, analysis, and dissemination.
  • Monitor ethical, legal, and institutional compliance and contribute to incident investigations and CAPA plans.
  • Track data-sharing agreements, metrics, tasks, and operational documentation.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, public health, public administration, social sciences, or a related field.
  • 1–2 years of professional experience in a research setting involving human biomedical data.
  • Familiarity with laws, regulations, best practices, FAIR data sharing, and ethical principles for human biomedical research.
  • Experience using or improving standard operating procedures and process documentation.
  • Familiarity with incident investigations, root cause analysis, and CAPA plans.
  • Strong communication, organization, attention to detail, digital literacy, and ability to work with documentation and task-management tools such as Google Suite, Microsoft Suite, Confluence, or Jira.
