TL;DR
DTN Software Engineer (Rust, gRPC, Kubernetes): Building and maintaining delay-tolerant networking products, platforms, and APIs for aerospace communications with an accent on distributed systems, cloud technologies, and networking, storage, and queueing challenges. Focus on developing scalable Kubernetes-based services, integrating the Hardy bundle router with the Spacetime platform, optimizing production performance, and supporting customer onboarding.
Location: Remote working within the United Kingdom; applicants must have the right to work in the UK

What you will do
- Develop and maintain DTN products, platforms, and APIs using Rust, gRPC, and Protocol Buffers.
- Build scalable, distributed systems on Kubernetes and optimize applications for production deployments.
- Develop new DTN capabilities, including the Hardy bundle router and integration with the Spacetime platform.
- Participate in the full application lifecycle, including coding, debugging, and addressing technical and design requirements.
- Create technical documentation, tutorials, and sample code for developers and customers.
- Support customer onboarding and collaborate with front-end developers on user-facing integrations.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in computer programming, computer science, or a related field.
- Strong technical communication skills and the ability to work across multiple functions.
- Experience working with customers or end users, answering questions, and developing creative solutions.
- Curiosity about business and technology strategies, processes, and objectives.
- Interest in presenting and selling the technology.
- Right to work in the United Kingdom.
Nice to have
- Experience designing scalable distributed microservice or event-driven architectures.
- Experience with scalable software, concurrency control, unit and integration testing, CNCF technologies, and containerization.
- Experience with delay-tolerant networking and standards such as CCSDS, IETF BPv7, or BPSec.
- Experience creating technical content such as documentation, tutorials, or blog posts.
- Experience with Google Cloud Platform or AWS.
