Power Electronics PCBA Technician

Location: Scotts Valley, United States; on-site

Salary: $35–$55 per hour, plus equity and benefits

hirify.global is a startup developing scalable power electronics hardware, including converters, inverters, and rectifiers for renewable energy, storage, loads, and grid electrification.

What you will do

• Perform precision rework on complex multilayer PCBAs, including fine-pitch soldering under a microscope.
• Support prototype builds, board bring-up, and functional verification testing.
• Operate and maintain soldering irons, hot-air stations, microscopes, and thermal tools.
• Collaborate with engineering, reliability, test, and operations teams to develop prototype-build, test, failure-analysis, and troubleshooting processes.
• Document learnings and failure modes, analyze data, and communicate improvements for future product builds.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience assembling, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and reworking complex PCBAs and electronic assemblies.
• Experience with teardown and troubleshooting of manufactured assemblies, hand tools, and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings for critical quality and assembly features.
• Strong electrical aptitude, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication, and ownership through product iterations.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively and lift up to 50 lbs., with frequent standing, walking, and bending.

Nice to have

• Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and hipot equipment.
• Experience with 3D printing, CNC, laser cutting, milling, drilling, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
• Experience in PCB, wiring, or sheet-metal fabrication.
• Prior experience in an R&D, NPI, or similar environment.
