Power Electronics PCBA Technician

Location: Scotts Valley, United States; on-site

Salary: $35–$55 per hour, plus equity and benefits

hirify.global is a startup developing scalable power-electronics hardware, including inverters and rectifiers for large-scale renewables, energy storage, and electrical loads connected to the grid.

What you will do

• Perform precision rework on complex multilayer PCBAs, including fine-pitch soldering under a microscope.
• Support prototype builds, board bring-up, and functional verification testing.
• Use and maintain soldering, hot-air, microscope, and thermal rework equipment.
• Deploy R&D lab processes for prototype assembly, testing, failure-mode identification, and troubleshooting.
• Document findings, analyze data, and communicate improvements to engineering, reliability, test, and operations teams.

Requirements

• Hands-on experience assembling, diagnosing, troubleshooting, and reworking complex PCBAs and electronic assemblies.
• Experience with teardown and diagnostics of complex manufactured assemblies.
• Familiarity with hand tools and automated manufacturing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret design drawings for critical quality and assembly features.
• Strong electrical aptitude, problem-solving skills, attention to detail, communication skills, and ability to work independently or collaboratively.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. and frequently stand, walk, and bend.

Nice to have

• Experience with oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, and hipot equipment.
• Experience with 3D printing, CNC, laser cutting, milling or drilling, CATIA, or SolidWorks.
• Experience in PCB, wiring, or sheet-metal fabrication.
• Prior experience in an R&D, NPI, or similar environment.
