Staff Software Engineer (TypeScript)

What you will do

• Drive technical direction for a product development team and influence roadmap and architectural decisions.
• Write maintainable TypeScript and JavaScript code for scalable web applications and APIs.
• Design robust integrations, data pipelines, distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven real-time architectures.
• Ensure product performance, reliability, security, code quality, and testing standards.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver high-quality features.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and contribute to cross-team technical initiatives.

Requirements

• 7+ years of software engineering experience focused on modern web development.
• Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript, React or another modern frontend framework, and Node.js.
• Experience designing complex, scalable web applications and distributed systems in production.
• Strong knowledge of API design, including REST and GraphQL, plus SQL and NoSQL databases and data modeling.
• Experience with cloud platforms, preferably GCP, and familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, and microservices architecture.
• Experience leading technical direction, communicating with diverse stakeholders, and mentoring engineers without direct management authority.

Nice to have

• Startup or high-growth company, logistics, supply chain, OMS, WMS, or TMS experience.
• Experience with Redux or Zustand, Jest, Cypress, Playwright, WebSockets, or Server-Sent Events.
• Experience with Kafka, RabbitMQ, observability tools, progressive web applications, or web performance optimization.
• Open-source TypeScript or JavaScript contributions.
